Nokia CeBIT

The goal for this stand was to present the leading qualities of Nokia: creative, innovative, humane; by emphasizing their proficiency in design and entertainment technologies emphasized mostly in music. The main challenge was to build a dream-like structure unifying the stand as a whole while offering the visitors the warm, surprising feeling of technology and music.

A futuristic structure consisting of 750 sheets of semi-transparent PVC material is hung from the 6m high metal construction above. The ends of the sheets are cut in curves which create the amorphous, light volume above. 2 dimensional pieces come together to form a 3 dimensional structure.

As a whole, these pieces form rhythmic music waves, while creating a visionary, illusional, inviting environment. This abstract environment of repeated parabolic geometries captures the visitors, lets them be involved, makes them curious, and offers them the experience of many similar and opposite feelings at the same time: massive but light, strong but soft, calm but dynamic, segmented but a whole, 3D made of 2D, imaginary but real…
